CONGRATULATIONS LORI JONES AND SHANNON RUSSELL!!!!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE . . .
The Paralegal Association of Northern Virginia (www.PANV.org) congratulates Lori Jones, RP®, and Shannon Russell, RP®, on successfully completing the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE™). Ms. Jones and Ms. Russell are now entitled to use the designation “PACE Registered Paralegal®” or “RP®,” as credentials in their professional careers.
Ms. Jones is employed by the Fairfax County Government as a paralegal in the Department of Family Services, Adult Protective Services, in Fairfax, Virginia. Ms. Jones is a member of PANV and the Local Government Paralegal Association.
Ms. Russell is employed as a paralegal by ExxonMobil in Fairfax, Virginia, and is a member of PANV.
PACE™, a proficiency-based exam, was developed by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA®) to identify a professional level of competence by which experienced paralegals throughout the nation can be evaluated. NFPA® retained Professional Education Systems (PES), a professional testing company, to assist attorneys, paralegals, and paralegal educators in developing the exam, which covers five domains of paralegal tasks and responsibilities as well as legal ethics, legal terminology, and technology. To ensure that examination results are valid, the examination is administered independently by PES.
In order to maintain their RP credentials, Ms. Jones and Ms. Russell must obtain a minimum of twelve hours of continuing education in a legal or specialty field every two years, with at least one hour of the twelve in legal ethics.
Headquartered in Edmonds, Washington, NFPA® is a non-profit professional organization representing more than 15,000 paralegals worldwide. NFPA - The Leader of the Paralegal Profession® - is the national voice and the standard for excellence for the paralegal profession through its work on the issues of regulation, ethics, and education.
